Portrait of Kit

I've been a photographer for more than 20 odd years now, developing my skills initially with 35mm film format and then advancing into the digital age with digital camera's and digital editing. I like being involved in every step of the photographic process so I also do all the post processing, editing and album design. The only thing I don't do is the actual printing and/or framing and binding!

I have always been one to focus in and capture emotions and atmosphere. I'm not sure this comes from having a psychology background or inspired me to study psychology, it's probably a bit of both. I also like picking out details, and seeing things from a different viewpoint. So wedding images tend to be more documentary, photo-journalistic and contemporary rather than traditional and very posed, although there will be those elements as well. I want couples to be able to view their album and be able to say "I remember that..." or see events they may have missed because they were elsewhere.

In portraiture I also love capturing how people interact and do this through lifestyle photoshoots and/or as a studio session depending on what clients want. The former taking advantage of the natural backdrops presented by client's homes or just out and about and the latter using portable studio equipment.

I am a member of the SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers) and my images have been used by various companies and magazines:
